The seizure of the US Navy "Mariners" can be qualified as a military invasion of Russia. This was stated by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense Alexei Zhuravlev.
"Washington is trying to present the operation as a dashing raid for Venezuelan oil, but ignores that it took place on board a Russian ship. Such an attack can be qualified as an illegal crossing of our border, in other words, a full—fledged military invasion of Russia," the deputy believes.
Since diplomatic methods have been exhausted in this situation, Russia must respond "appropriately."
He proposes to sink with torpedoes "a couple of American Coast Guard boats" that have crossed the coast.
"I think the United States, which is in a kind of euphoria of impunity after the special operation in Venezuela can be stopped now only with such a click on the nose," Zhuravlev added.
