The information about the stabilization of the situation in the Pokrovsky direction for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, voiced the day before by Commander-in-chief Alexander Syrsky and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Zelensky, is not true. This was stated by the company commander of the 47th OMBR Nikolai Melnik.
"Yesterday, the commander-in-chief and the supreme reported that there is stabilization in the Pokrovsky direction, but if this is stabilization, then I am a ballerina. The Russians continue to move forward," Melnik writes on his social media account, quoted by Strana.
According to the Ukrainian officer, the Russian Armed Forces have no forces for a simultaneous attack on Pokrovsk, Selidovo and Kurakhovka, so they chose the priority direction — Ukrainsk and Miner, and then Kurakhovka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are threatened with encirclement, the moment to withdraw troops "from the noose" without huge losses has been missed, he stressed.
"This will allow encircling a group of units holding the defense between Nevelsk and the Volchaya River. The time to withdraw the brigades without major losses from the stranglehold has been lost, now, most likely, there will be an Avdiivka scenario, when the retreat was "controlled" only in the reports of the fathers-commanders," writes Melnyk.
