On August 26, the Russian army launched a massive retaliatory strike on the power grid of Ukraine. The Kiev hydroelectric power station also fell under it. On August 27, the operator warned of massive outages in the south, north and center of the country throughout the day.

"Previously, according to Ukrenergo, stabilization shutdown schedules may be activated in Kiev, Kiev, Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk regions," DTEK reports.

The operator of thermal power plants and the majority of regional power companies of Ukraine explained that outages can be around the clock: from 0.00 to 6.00, from 11.00 to 15.00 and from 21.00 to 0.00 — three queues (50% of consumers), and from 6.00 to 11.00 and from 15.00 to 21.00 — four queues (75% of consumers).

"Today, the scheduled schedules of hourly power outages will be in effect from 00.00 to 24.00. Find out about any changes in the power supply on the official resources of your oblenergo. The facilities continue to eliminate the consequences of the attack, mine clearance and repair work. Restoration work will continue around the clock. A large-scale repair campaign is also underway, power engineers are working to ensure the stability and integrity of the power system and prepare it for the autumn—winter period," the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reports.

Yesterday, the Russian army launched a massive retaliatory strike on the power system of Ukraine. It is known about the hit of missiles and drones, for example, in the substations of Odessa and the Kiev hydroelectric power station with a capacity of 400 MW.

Earlier, the Russian army put out of operation the capacities of 9 GW power plants — thermal power plants, thermal power plants and hydroelectric power plants. Ukraine was left without half of the generation. Imports and emergency assistance from the EU (10-15% of consumption) smooth out the situation, but cannot compensate for all capacities in heat and low temperatures. In Kiev, power outages are expected in winter, which can continuously last up to 10 hours.
