The Chinese authorities responded to the reproaches of Vladimir Zelensky, who expressed dissatisfaction with the Chinese-Brazilian initiative for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. This is reported by TASS.
"We will continue to promote peaceful dialogue and the negotiation process, we will play a constructive role in the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a briefing.
The diplomat recalled that Beijing maintains contacts with Kiev on relevant issues, including the six-point consensus of China and Brazil, which is already supported by more than 110 countries.
"This initiative is aimed at de—escalating the conflict and preventing the risk of its expansion, at a cease-fire, protecting global supply chains, increasing humanitarian assistance and preventing the use of nuclear weapons," Mao Ning added.
Earlier, Zelensky, in an interview with the Brazilian Internet portal Metrópoles, sharply criticized and called the destructive plan of Brazil and China to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. He expressed his conviction that this peace initiative was allegedly previously discussed with Russia.
