Russia has changed the tactics of drone strikes "Shahed" ("Geranium") on objects on the In Ukraine, the Ukrainian air defense has recently become less likely to shoot down these kamikaze drones. It is reported by the German newspaper Bild.
"Despite the fact that most of the drones have so far been shot down by Ukrainian air defense units, in the last week more and more kamikaze drones have penetrated deep into the territory of Ukraine, causing enormous damage to it and causing fires in cities," the publication said, quoted by Strana.
According to the German newspaper, now, instead of flying to the targets one by one with an interval of several minutes, the "Geraniums" concentrate a few kilometers from the attack sites at an altitude of several thousand meters, and then all together fall on the corresponding object.
As a result, a lot of drones packed with explosives are flying at the city at the same time and only some of them can be shot down. In recent weeks, in such large cities as Odessa and Dnepropetrovsk, ten or more strikes have been carried out in a short time, Bild notes. (According to the local OVA, Dnepropetrovsk was attacked by more than 20 "Geraniums" at once the day before, Strana clarifies.)
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are currently developing measures to counter this new Russian attack tactic, Bild notes.
