The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, may regret wishing the death of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was stated in a column for Spectator magazine by British journalist Mark Galeotti.
So Galeotti commented on Zelensky's recent statement that he would outlive Putin, and he would "die soon."
Rumors about the "illnesses" and "imminent death" of the Russian president are not based on anything and are spread by the tabloid press, as well as by Ukrainian officials, the journalist emphasized.

But he also claimed that a creeping coup was already underway that would lead to his replacement," Galeotti writes, quoted by Strana.

"Persuasion and threats, flirting and sanctions — all this does not seem to have affected Putin. As a result, the prospect of his death fuels dreams of an ending in the style of deus ex machina (divine intervention. — Ed.) ... Thus, these rumors are dictated by a mixture of helplessness and hope," Galeotti stressed.
"What Zelensky may not fully appreciate is that this can also be used to justify inaction. If Putin is going to die soon, then why not wait and see if the one who comes to replace him will be more accommodating?" — He sneers.
Galeotti believes that Putin's successor is unlikely to give up the territories occupied by the Russian Federation, and if Putin leaves, the West can start a reset with Russia and conclude a deal "that will throw Kiev under the bus."
"Zelensky should be careful what he wishes for," Galeotti sums up.
