The portrait that Russian President Vladimir Putin presented to his American counterpart Donald Trump is priceless.
This opinion was expressed in a comment to the publication "Arguments and Facts" by People's Artist of Russia, academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Nikas Safronov.
He stressed that usually the masters of the brush do not comment on their work. And even more so, it is not customary to talk about who exactly they were created for.
"Actually, we never comment on our orders, but I can say one thing for sure: there are a lot of talented people in our country, thank God, there are a lot of artists. Therefore, Russia is known to the whole world as a country that has been giving culture and art for many centuries," the academician said.
Answering the question of what the potential material value of Putin's gift to Trump might be, Safronov said that such work "is most likely priceless."
As EADaily reported, earlier, US presidential special envoy Steven Witkoff said that he brought Trump a gift from Vladimir Putin — a beautiful portrait of the US president painted by a leading Russian artist.
