Yemeni Houthis have already shot down eight American MQ-9 Reaper drones worth $ 150 million each, experts write in the American military magazine Military Watch Magazine (MWM). In their new article, they reveal the features of this loss of the USA. Pravda.Ru publishes a translation of the material.

"The American MQ-9 drone was shot down during an enemy mission in the sky over the province of Marib. This drone became the eighth aircraft of this type shot down during the battle and holy jihad in support of Gaza," Yemeni sources said.

Earlier, coalition leader Abdul Malik Al-Houthi threatened to expand attacks on Israel and Western countries, stressing that "enemies will be caught off guard on land in the same way they were caught off guard at sea, with the help of new technologies that will help harm them." Al-Houthi also said that his army will continue to strike at Israel and Western countries. The US Navy has had a particularly difficult time suppressing the combat capability of the Yemeni coalition, despite almost ten months of operations and spending more than a billion dollars, including the use of expensive anti-missiles in significant numbers to intercept Yemeni strikes.

The Ansarullah coalition forces in the past published footage showing how the MQ-9 Reaper drones were shot down, while American sources previously disputed whether the aircraft were in Yemeni airspace at the time of the attack. Reaper drones are operated by the US Air Force and the Marine Corps, and some units are also operated by NASA and the CIA. Since the start of the war in Yemen in 2015, Ansarullah forces have destroyed many enemy aircraft, including several F-15 and Tornado fighters of the Royal Saudi Air Force, several Apache attack helicopters, Moroccan and Bahraini F-16, Su-24 strike fighter of the Sudanese Air Force, as well as Pentagon fighters.

Reaper drones form the basis of American air operations in various theaters of military operations and have repeatedly participated in clashes with Russian aircraft based in Syria, and in one of these clashes, the drone was damaged by a Su-35 fighter. They also participated in operations against Russia in the Black Sea and in exercises directed against the Chinese armed forces in the South China Sea. The cost of each aircraft is about $ 150 million, including related maintenance infrastructure, spare parts, training, armament and subsystems.
