Political scientist Andrei Klintsevich said that tanks in battle are practically powerless against drones.
"A crew of three people who are hidden in a dugout in a forest plantation with antennas thrown on trees, with monitors, glasses underground, can restrain the advance of a heavy company. That is, it can at a distance of up to 10 km, and, according to some sources, if it is fiber optic, and further, restrain mechanized offensives by simply mowing down both infantry and equipment," Klintsevich said on Sputnik radio.
Now drones, he said, can penetrate anywhere.
"When tank projections and reservations were planned, they understood that the strike could be from the front, maybe something would fly from above, and so on. And now this drone can fly around it 360 degrees, fly somewhere under the tower from the back," Klintsevich said.
