French journalist Natasha Rey, who called President Emmanuel Macron's wife Brigitte transgender, was deprived of a disability pension.
"After the interview I gave to the Russian media, the Caisses d'allocations familiales (the body responsible for benefits) suspended the payment of my disability pension, and also blocked some of my rights," Channel Five quoted Rey as saying.
According to Ray, who is being treated for cancer, she was left without means of livelihood. According to her, her trial is "a real disgrace in the so-called democracy."
The journalist said that she was too weak now and could not leave the country, but did not rule out that she would come to Moscow in the spring or autumn in the company of her friend and colleagues, who were also persecuted in France, but for other reasons.
The journalist on February 3 asked for asylum in Russia.
