The Biden administration takes seriously the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin that allowing Kiev to hit Western long-range missiles deep into Russia would mean direct involvement of NATO in the Ukrainian conflict. This was stated at an online briefing for journalists by the coordinator for strategic communications in The White House National Security Council, John Kirby.
"We take this seriously, and we are constantly monitoring such activity," Kirby said, quoted by TASS.
Kirby also said that no serious public statements on this topic are expected following the talks between American President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, which are scheduled for today.
So far, according to him, there have been no changes regarding Ukraine's use of long-range weapons to strike deep into Russia, the adviser noted.
"There is no change in our position regarding Ukraine's supply of long—range weapons for use against targets on Russian territory," Kirby said.
As reported by EADaily, now we are not talking about whether or not to allow the Kiev regime to strike at Russia with precision weapons, but about whether NATO countries are directly involved in a military conflict or not. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.
This is how Putin commented on reports that the West may allow Kiev to strike with long-range weapons delivered to it deep into Russia. The video is posted on the Kremlin's telegram channel.
