The international swim "Friendship" for the first time after a five-year break took place on the Amur in Blagoveshchensk and Chinese Heihe. 81 Russian athletes and 70 Chinese swam across the river towards each other, the Internet resource reports today, August 26 Dvhab.ru .

The Russian team included 81 participants. The oldest is 81 years old. Among them were two Amur ministers — physical culture and sports Dmitry Kuteka and Construction and architecture Nikolai Sibiryakov.

"We swam well. We did it in 23 minutes. All 81 people came to the shore of the city of Heihe," said the captain of the Russian team, Alexander Klepikov.

The Chinese athletes who came to our side were traditionally greeted with bread and salt, all the participants of the swim received medals and took a photo as a keepsake.

The swimmers overcame about 1,500 meters: they swam not in a straight line, but diagonally due to the strong current. But everyone was safe throughout the swim: everyone had an inflatable buoy with them, an ambulance crew was on duty on land, and rescuers on boats were watching the swimmers on the water.
