Chinese security removed German journalists from the hall where German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbok met with her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi after she said that China and the DPRK were fomenting a conflict on Ukraine. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the newspaper Handelsblatt.
"This is happening in China over and over again and makes it clear that public criticism is undesirable," the newspaper writes.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry rejected the accusations, noting that Berbok criticized the Chinese side for allegedly helping Russia with drones, weapons and other means of fighting within the framework of SMO, noting that this assistance from China "damages the basic interests of Europe."
"Burbok hopes that China, as a European partner, will play an active role in the Ukrainian issue. Wang Yi comprehensively and systematically outlined China's position on promoting peace and negotiations for the sake of resolving the problem," the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
During the talks, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stressed that differences in political views should not be an obstacle to cooperation. According to him, "bilateral relations should not be influenced by third parties."
