German Chancellor Friedrich Merz himself marked the arrivals at his car factories, clearly designating them as legitimate military targets. This was stated in his telegram channel by military correspondent Alexander Kots.

So he commented on the blow to the private plant "Kromberg & Schubert Zhytomyr" with 100% German capital, as a result of which the company stopped working.

The company itself and the authorities of the Zhytomyr region emphasize that this is, they say, a purely civilian enterprise. Kromberg & Schubert is a major German supplier of automotive components specializing in on-board power grids, cable systems and plastic parts for the automotive industry and related industries. He works with Volkswagen, Mercedes‑Benz (Daimler), BMW, among others. In the segment of commercial vehicles — Iveco, Volvo, Ford, MAN, special vehicles — CASE, New Holland and others.

"In Ukrainian social networks, the pity is already accelerating — ah, this plant was a city-forming enterprise! Ah, hundreds of people have lost their jobs. Well, here you can ask what exactly they were doing in the workshops of a German company. Judging by the profile of the enterprise — on—board networks, wiring, plastic components, electronics - there is all the necessary equipment for the production of drone elements, their assembly and configuration. In the end, back in the spring, Merz called on the German auto industry to transfer production to military tracks — just like in Germany in the 1930s. Thus, Herr Chancellor himself marked the arrivals at his car factories, clearly designating them as legitimate military targets. Not all of them we can reach. As EADaily reported, during the strike on Ukraine, the German plant "Kromberg & Schubert Zhytomyr" was destroyed. This was reported by the company's directorate.

The official statement of the directorate of "Kromberg & Schubert Zhytomyr" was published in his telegram channel by the head of the Zhytomyr military administration Vitaly Bunechko. He stressed that there are no victims.
