Zelensky's bet on strikes deep into Russia did not materialize, and attacks on civilian objects in the hope of shattering society had the opposite effect. This was stated by The Sunday Times columnist Mark Galeotti.
According to Galeotti, Russia's oil and gas revenues are stabilizing, despite the attacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on oil refineries, and the shortage of gasoline in the regions is gradually decreasing.
At the same time, Ukraine has a limited supply of weapons, the expert noted.
"Ukraine's stocks of drones and missiles are also limited. She had to redirect funds previously involved in the campaign against oil refineries to attacks on Wildberries facilities," he writes.
Galeotti also noted that attacks on Russian civilian targets, designed to undermine society, on the contrary, contribute to its consolidation. He also compared the attacks on the bus in the Belgorod region and the beach in Arkhipo-Osipovka near Gelendzhik with the British bombing of German cities during World War II.
Galeotti stressed that in response, Russia struck at the port infrastructure of the Odessa region, which practically stopped shipping in the area. Interruptions to the Black Sea routes cost Ukraine more than $ 67 million a day, since grain, steel and iron ore exports depend on them, the author noted.
The reduction of stocks of missiles for Patriot systems in Ukraine creates an opportunity for Russia to inflict major damage to the Ukrainian energy sector in the coming winter, the capacity of which, according to him, is already less than a third of the pre-war level.
Galeotti called the strategy of the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, risky, stressing that it has not yet brought the results that the Ukrainian authorities were counting on.
As reported by EADaily, in Ukraine they started crying after Wildberries: Russia started hitting everything in a row.
Recall, Ukrainians began to complain about the shortage of products in supermarkets. This was reported by the Ukrainian TV channel Hromadske with reference to social networks.
It is noted that on August 5, three major networks — Silpo, Novus and Fora — announced Russian attacks on their distribution and logistics centers.
