Blackouts hit the dairy industry of Ukraine — massive return of products

The energy crisis on Ukraine is causing significant damage to the local dairy industry, leading to an increase in product returns and financial losses for producers. This is reported today, July 30, by the Ukrainian media.

According to the executive director of the Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine (SMPU) Arsen Didur, in July the number of returns of dairy products to factories increased by 20-30%. This is due to prolonged power outages, which led to a violation of temperature conditions during transportation and storage of food products.

As a result, retail chains shift the financial burden caused by energy problems to dairy enterprises. According to Didur, it is especially difficult to work with networks associated with Fozzy Group of Vladimir Kostelman and Roman Chigir. This company operates Fozzy hypermarkets, Silpo, Fora and Trash chains.

In the second half of July on Ukraine is experiencing an increase in purchase prices for milk.

Earlier this month it was reported that DTEK is the largest private electricity supplier in the Ukraine — lost 90% of generation as a result of Russian strikes, but plans to restore 60-70% of generation.

Meanwhile, the decline in heat and the return to operation after the repair of two NPP power units have helped Ukraine in recent days to sharply reduce power outages. However, the import of electricity continues and the largest suppliers are still Hungary and Slovakia, which the Kiev regime left without oil from Lukoil.
