Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, swimmer and hockey coach Vladimir Bure died in Miami at the age of 73, Match TV reports. According to the publication, a few weeks ago Bure had a heart attack. He was hospitalized, the former athlete complained of severe heart pain. In 2017, Bure suffered a severe stroke and spent a month in a coma.

Vladimir Bure is the father of hockey players Pavel and Valery Bure, who played in the National Hockey League. Both are prize—winners of the Olympic Games and World Championships, Pavel Bure is the special representative of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation for international affairs.

Vladimir Bure is a silver and three-time bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in swimming, two-time silver medalist of the world championships, European champion in the 1970 relay. In 1972 he was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR.

In the late 1970s, Bure completed his sports career and spent the next few years working as a swimming coach. In 1991 he moved to the USA.

In 2000 and 2003, he won the Stanley Cup as a physical training coach for New Jersey. From 2010 to 2012 he was vice-president of CSKA, in 2015-2017 he worked as a physical training coach for the Belarusian national ice hockey team.
