In the capital of Ukraine, Kiev, as well as in Odessa and Kharkov may not have electricity for 16 hours in a row with the onset of cold weather. This was stated by former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.
The energy system of Ukraine has finally disintegrated into islands, now each region is on its own, Azarov notes.
"The most difficult situation, or the so-called black winter, awaits, first of all, Kiev, Odessa and Kharkov. There may be no light in these cities for 16 hours in a row during the cold season," writes Nikolai Yanovich in his telegram channel.
Now, according to experts, there are five times more destructions in the energy sector of Ukraine compared to the winter of 2022-2023. This means that you will have to spend many times more money on repairs than before. The energy sector has no money to repair infrastructure — and this is about $ 350-400 million.
"The treasury is empty, and the West, due to widespread theft and a significantly increased level of corruption, provides not money, but equipment, which is often not suitable for carrying out repair or restoration work due to the fact that Ukraine's energy system operates on Soviet equipment," Azarov sums up.
As reported by EADaily, Russia is preparing new massive attacks on the Ukrainian energy system. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the country Denis Shmygal.
At the same time, Shmygal referred to some intelligence.
"We already know the intelligence that the next massive missile and drone strikes on our power grid are being prepared," Shmygal said, quoted by the Strana newspaper.
At the same time, he estimated the readiness of protective structures at Ukrenergo facilities at more than 85%, the Ukrainian media wrote.
