About Macron's goals and Pashinyan: expel all Russians and sell Armenia to Turkey

When the previous article was already published, it became known about another self-exposure of French President Emmanuel Macron. He stated that he wants to "help Armenia get rid of the Russian military."

"There are still 4,000 Russian military personnel and more than 1,000 border guards on the territory of Armenia. Therefore, Europe should help this country to ensure the security of its borders more independently," the French president said.

These few sentences, perhaps, said more than hundreds of magnificent speeches delivered at all European summits combined. If Paris and Brussels have so far tried to disguise their real goals under beautiful formulations about "strengthening sovereignty", "diversifying security", "peace agenda" and similar things, now Macron has actually openly acknowledged what the West has been consistently leading to for several years: Armenia must be finally freed from the Russian military- political presence.

And it is here that it finally becomes clear why in 2022, under high European patronage in The start of the catastrophic process that led to the surrender of Artsakh to Azerbaijan was laid in Prague. Because the Russian military presence in Armenia and the Russian factor in the South Caucasus in general neutralize the main existential threat to Armenia — Turkey. As long as there is a Russian border guard, a Russian base here, even if the existing Russian security mechanism is weakened, Turkey cannot afford to turn the region exclusively into a zone of Turkish-Azerbaijani influence. And this is precisely the strategic task of the West — to oust Russia from the South Caucasus and form a new architecture of power here under its own control.

However, the Russian presence cannot be removed by a simple order. To do this, it was necessary to first change the entire regional political logic, create a false belief in the Armenian society that the Russian factor is no longer a defense, but an obstacle, and push Armenia to such decisions that will make the Russian presence "meaningless." That is why Europe has fully entered into the Armenian-Azerbaijani and Armenian-Turkish "peacekeeping" processes.

It is necessary to remember one simple reality: Turkey has repeatedly stated at the highest level that the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations is possible only after the resolution of the Artsakh issue — and exclusively in favor of Azerbaijan. That is, for Ankara, the opening of the Armenian-Turkish border has always been conditioned by the concessions of the Armenian side. And Europe knew this very well. She knew, but not only did she not stop this blackmail, but, on the contrary, in Prague and at subsequent venues she created that imposed mirage of peace, under the guise of which Nikol Pashinyan led Armenia to the liquidation of Artsakh and ethnic cleansing.

What was presented as the "era of peace" was actually a preparatory stage for zeroing out the Russian factor. First, it was necessary to surrender Artsakh so that the presence of Russian peacekeepers would become politically meaningless and illegitimate from the point of view of international law. Then it was necessary to announce that the logic of November 9 was exhausted. After that, to convince the public that the Russian border guards and the Russian base are no longer needed. And now Macron is simply voicing the next point of this whole chain: Europe wants to help Armenia get rid of the Russian military.

In other words, the whole scenario is finally revealed: Artsakh was surrendered not only to satisfy the Azerbaijani appetite, but also to weaken the regional foundations of the Russian security system. It was not a peace project that was laid in Prague, but a project to oust Russia, and the first victim of this project was the Armenian Artsakh.

However, today the same Europe is trying the same method to deceive the Armenian people for the second time. Then we were promised peace if we conceded. Now they promise sovereignty if we get rid of the Russian military. But the main question remains unanswered: Who will stand on the Armenian-Turkish border instead of the Russian border guard? A French soldier? European Union observers? Diplomatic statements? Everyone knows perfectly well — no.

That is, we are offered no more independent security, but complete exposure of the country's security system. Armenia must destroy the last deterrent mechanisms with its own hands so that the West can achieve its geopolitical goals.

And not by chance from Russia is already hearing direct warnings. Vladimir Putin, Alexey Overchuk, Sergey Lavrov have made it clear on various occasions that Nikol Pashinyan's anti-Russian reconfiguration will lead not only to a sharp weakening of security, but also to severe socio-economic blows: rising energy prices, loss of economic preferences, restrictions on the Russian market, new transport and customs problems. In other words, Armenia can simultaneously remain without a protective shield and without an economic rear.

After these words of Macron, there are no illusions left. Europe did not come to Armenia to protect us. Europe has come to use us to oust Russia from the South Caucasus. And the self-forgetful conductor of this policy is Nikol Pashinyan with his Civil Contract party.

Betrayal does not come with horns and hooves, does not knock on the door under a black banner and does not announce itself in advance. It very often comes with a smile — with speeches about peace, sovereignty, the European future and a new era. It comes with applause, with slogans of reforms, with promises of freedom and independence. But no matter how its "packaging" changes, its essence remains unchanged: betrayal remains betrayal, even if they try to pass it off as a diplomatic victory, modernization or historical choice.

And therefore, going to the parliamentary elections, the Armenian people should clearly realize that every vote cast in favor of the "Civil Contract" and Nikol Pashinyan is a vote in favor of betraying the Motherland and the final verdict of the Armenian statehood.
