US President Donald Trump's chief negotiators Steven Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner intend to come to Kiev and Moscow, TASS reports. The meaning of this visit is not entirely clear, political analyst Alexei Pilko comments on the news.

Russia responded with a naval blockade of the ports of Bolshaya Odessa and an increase in the stakes for the infrastructure war, which, given the shortage of air defense missiles, led to sad consequences for Ukraine. Therefore, Kiev needs a break again and Witkoff and Kushner are going to Moscow again to engage in diplomatic camouflage. I wonder if they will be believed again? The previous trust cost Russia a lot, the subsequent one may cost even more," Pilko said.

However, the political scientist added, it is possible to offer the American side several reinsurance conditions for its acceptance as an intermediary.

"First, a complete ban on the re-export of American weapons to Ukraine. Secondly, the shutdown of Starlink over its territory. Thirdly, the termination of the transfer of intelligence to Kiev. Without this, it is not even worth starting a dialogue with Trump's emissaries, which should no longer go on Anchorage terms. After all that has happened, they should tighten up a lot," Pilko believes.
