The deputy of the Communist Party faction in the State Duma Georgy Kamnev sent an appeal to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov demanding to reduce the cost of AVTOVAZ cars in the domestic market.
As the publication reports Lenta.ru referring to a copy of the letter, this document indicates that AVTOVAZ cars are now much cheaper abroad than in Russia.
The parliamentarian cites data from open sources, according to which the cost of LADA cars in foreign markets is lower than in Of the Russian Federation.
It follows from the appeal that LADA Vesta in the Comfort configuration in Belarus costs almost 300 thousand cheaper than in the domestic market.
A similar situation is observed with the Niva Legend 3D model, which is widely popular among rural residents, the deputy noted. He believes that this is at least strange and unfair to the domestic consumer.
The parliamentarian wonders why our people should buy AVTOVAZ cars for several hundred thousand rubles more expensive than motorists in Belarus and other countries.
"When it is logical that everything is the other way around. This raises a lot of questions among citizens for whom even a Russian—made car has become an inaccessible luxury," Kamnev stated.
As reported by EADaily, earlier the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov said that Chinese cars should not create competition for AvtoVAZ.
