"It won't help Merz" — why did Berlin come up with an accusation against Russia

Political scientist Marat Bashirov drew attention to the time when Berlin officially accused Russia of attacking the airport in Leipzig.

"The most interesting thing is that this nonsense with allegedly our UAVs in Leipzig was staged a few days before the elections to the local parliament. This is the land of Saxony, where the Alternative for Germany party should win. And this is a provocation by the hands of Ukrainians. The Germans have not been able to find out for years who blew up the Nord Streams and deprived them of cheap gas, and then they so quickly determined that the UAVs were ours," Bashirov wrote in the telegram channel.

However, according to the political scientist, Chancellor Friedrich Merz, whose ratings are very low, will not help in the elections.

"This will not help Merz's party," Bashirov said.

As EADaily reported, today, on September 1, German Interior Minister Alexander Dobirindt officially accused Russia of attacking Leipzig airport on August 4. Dobrindt believes that the incident "fits into the established pattern of Russian hybrid operations in Europe."

"Thus, the German government comes to the conclusion that Russia is responsible for the hybrid attack in Leipzig on August 4," he said.

European leaders amicably and promptly supported these accusations of Kiev.
