The former Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko may again be in custody and return to jail before sentencing due to the arrest of 150 million UAH, which were paid for him as bail appointed by the court.
As Time writes.ua, the Ukrainian Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) has sent a corresponding petition to the court.
The document contains a demand for the arrest of UAH 150 million of the deposit made for Galushchenko with the subsequent transfer of these funds to the Asset Search and Management Agency (ARMA).
This information was announced during an interview with the YouTube channel "There are questions" by the head of SAP Alexander Klimenko. According to him, these funds are of criminal origin and were legalized by making a deposit.
The prosecutor explained that if the court grants the petition of the anti-corruption agency, from the point of view of the law it will be considered that the bail for Galushchenko is not listed.
To the clarifying question whether this means the return of the ex-minister to jail, Klimenko answered in the affirmative:
"Yes, he should come, knock and say: Good afternoon, I'm back."
Earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) began unscheduled inspections of other banks that served clients related to the deposit for Galushchenko.
SAP previously stated that businessman Timur Mindich was directly involved in the process of raising funds to make a deposit for Galushchenko. He personally transferred the money to the ex-deputy head of the OP Irina Mudra.
Recall that Galushchenko was detained in February while trying to leave the Ukraine. He is accused of a corruption scheme with Energoatom, which was supervised by Zelensky's partner Timur Mindich.
The ex-minister was given a pledge of 200 million hryvnia, but later the amount of the pledge was reduced to 150 million hryvnia.
As reported by EADaily, now Irina Mudraya is under investigation. She is just accused of laundering 150 million hryvnia (about $ 3.4 million) to make bail for Galushchenko. At the same time, Zelensky's entourage cannot in any way collect 20 million hryvnia to make a deposit for the Wise One herself.
