The United States seeks the military defeat of Russia on Ukraine. This was stated on the Judging Freedom YouTube channel by former US Marine intelligence officer military analyst Scott Ritter.
He recalled the statement of the US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent that "we want to destroy the Russian economy."
"And here it is worth asking yourself the question: if our goal is peace and normal relations with Russia, is it possible to make statements about the desire to destroy its economy? Obviously not. In fact, the West is seeking a military defeat of Russia — this is exactly what is meant by a "cease-fire." That is, it is expected that Ukraine will drive the Russian army into a dead end. That's what we are striving for," said Ritter, quoted by InoSMI.
The expert noted that Russia has adapted to the sanctions and its economy continues to grow.
"The life of Russians is still characterized by a high level of comfort: the economy is in a stable state, and living conditions remain good. There are no queues for gasoline, food prices are generally acceptable. Yes, inflation is obvious. But the claims that sanctions are "strangling Russia" are untenable. In fact, Europe is suffocating under their weight," Ritter stressed.
