The Russian child prodigy pianist became the winner of the prestigious competition in Salzburg

Russian child prodigy pianist Yelisey Mysin has won the second prize of the Mozart International Competition in Salzburg. The young virtuoso himself announced this on his page on the social network.

"Dear friends, thank you all for your support. The Mozart International Competition 2026 in Salzburg has ended. I took second place," the pianist wrote.

The International Mozart Competition has been one of the largest music competitions in the world for more than 50 years. Since its foundation in 1956 and regularly held since 1975, the competition has been dedicated to the work of the genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791). Traditionally, music competitions are held in four categories: violin, vocals, piano and string quartet.

This year, the first prize went to Serbian pianist Bogdan Dugalich, the third prize was awarded to pianist Anastasia Kluchereva, who graduated from the Central Music School at the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory (class of Professor Mikhail Voskresensky) and is currently studying with Professor Pavel Gililov at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg.

The pianists competed from 13 to 19 February. The first prize is € 10 thousand, the second — € 7 thousand, the third — € 5 thousand.

Elisha Mysin was born in 2010 in Stavropol. I started making music at the age of 5.

He is a laureate of the international competitions Astana Piano Passion (2017) and "Where Art is Born" in Krasnodar (2017, I prize), a participant in the final of the All-Russian television competition "Blue Bird" (2016). In 2020 and 2021, he was awarded the first prizes of the Vladimir Krainev Moscow Piano Competition. Mysin is also the winner of the first prize of the Robert Schumann Young Musicians Competition in Dusseldorf (February 2023). Winner of the first prize, the Mozart Prize and the Audience Award at the International Piano Competition in Cleveland (July 2023). Fellow of the New Names Foundation and the Uamaha company.

As EADaily reported, in 2023 Mysin won the First Prize at the Frederic Chopin International Competition in Nashville (USA).
