Russian X-31 missiles aboard Venezuelan Su-30 fighters represent a new phase of naval deterrence. This is reported by Army Recognition.

So the publication commented on the new footage published on October 29 by the Venezuelan Air Force. They depict Su-30MK2 fighters with X-31 anti-ship missiles during flights over the Caribbean Sea.

It is noted that the footage appeared in the midst of increased US naval and air activity in The Caribbean.

"On October 29, 2025, the Venezuelan Air Force published a new video, which is currently being distributed on social networks, in which two multi-purpose Su-30MK2 fighters are flying in formation and are clearly armed with Russian-made X-31 anti-ship missiles… By deciding to make this particular configuration public, Venezuela not only demonstrates that its Su-30 fleet remains operational and properly armed, but also signals that any surface group of the US Navy operating near its coast will have to take into account the real threat of a naval strike, "the publication says.

Earlier, Venezuela showed the same pair of aircraft and missiles during the September exercises on La Orchila.

Having once again demonstrated the combat-ready Su-30MK2 with the X-31, Caracas informs Washington and the US Navy that the Venezuelan red lines will be provided not only by coastal radars and patrol boats, but also The country's air Force, which is able to go beyond the 12-mile sea line.

"The message is obvious: American assets can operate in the Caribbean, but they will do so under the supervision of Venezuela, in an expanding access exclusion zone and with the understanding that a supersonic strike can be launched as soon as possible if diplomatic or political signals fail," the newspaper writes.

As reported by EADaily, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro appealed to Moscow for military assistance amid pressure from the United States. This was reported by The Washington Post.
