Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has not appeared in public for 25 days, and Iran is already looking for his successor. This is reported by the German edition of Bild.
During this time, Khamenei addressed the people only twice via video, despite the fact that he usually does not miss important religious ceremonies. There are rumors in Iran that the country's supreme leader is seriously ill or even died. Experts, however, tend to believe that Khamenei simply does not come out of the bunker, writes the Bild telegram channel in Russian❶.
"The 12-day war actually marked the beginning of the post-Khamenei era. Iran is already looking for a successor. Khamenei no longer has the physical and psychological capabilities to fulfill his role — and this has been the case since the beginning of the war," Iranian political analyst Ali Fathollah-Nejad told Bild.
According to Bild, the Ayatollah took refuge in an underground shelter shortly after the start of Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities on June 13. Israel and the United States attacked targets in Fordo, Isfahan and Natanz, in total, the conflict lasted 12 days. A temporary truce has now been established, agreed through the mediation of Qatar.
The fact that Ayatollah Khamenei is alive has been confirmed by the Israeli intelligence service Mossad.
"We categorically deny the rumors about Khamenei's death. We emphasize again: he is alive," the Israeli 9th channel quotes the message of the special service in the social network X.
