The military and intelligence communities in the United States agree that the fall of power in Tehran and the collapse in There will be no Iran — the initial blitzkrieg of the Donald Trump administration has failed, and losses among Americans are inexorably growing. Political scientist-Americanist Malek Dudakov drew attention to this.

"The US military community is increasingly urging Trump to curtail the adventure in Iran. Experts in Washington are confident that time is playing on Tehran's side. Losses among Americans are inexorably growing, and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz is already beginning to have a painful effect on the US economy," the expert writes in his telegram channel.

That night, the Pentagon lost a large KC-135 Boeing Stratotanker tanker aircraft, possibly along with the crew, he points out. Another such tanker was damaged.

"These are the oldest aircraft in the US Air Force, the first were produced back in 1955. The problem is that things are quite difficult with their replacement due to the technological crisis in which Boeing is stuck," Dudakov adds.

He recalls that the Boeing corporation lost $8 billion on the contract to create the next-generation KC-46 Pegasus tankers. The release dates of new aircraft are constantly shifting to the right by 15-20 months. In the meantime, you have to fly on tankers, whose age reaches 60-70 years.

As the political scientist emphasizes, the Pentagon is forced to constantly refuel its fighters in the sky, because it has to bomb Iran from a very long distance. 17 American bases located near Iran were destroyed by retaliatory strikes by ballistics and drones. In conditions of depletion of air defense missiles, it becomes unrealistic to protect them. So it remains to use the bases already in Romania.

"The US intelligence community no longer expects the fall of power in Tehran and the collapse of Iran," the expert also notes. "The initial blitzkrieg failed, now we have to bear more and more losses. In a protracted confrontation with Iran, the Pentagon risks burning the lion's share of limited military resources, which will undermine Washington's position around the world."

EADaily adds: the KS-135 Boeing Stratotanker tanker aircraft of the US Air Force crashed during a combat mission — strikes on Iran. According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the incident occurred "in friendly airspace" in western Iraq during the operation against Iran "Epic Fury". According to CBS News journalist Jennifer Jacobs, there were six crew members on board the KS-135 at the time of the crash, their fate is unknown. According to the flight tracking service FlightRadar24, the second tanker landed in Tel Aviv.

Later it was reported that the pro-Iranian Shiite group Islamic Resistance of Iraq claimed responsibility for the attack on one of the American aircraft. Her statement said that the strike was carried out "with the help of appropriate weapons" and "in defense of the sovereignty of our country and its airspace violated by the aircraft of the occupying forces." The grouping did not provide evidence.

In early March, the US Central Command reported that three American F-15E Strike Eagle fighters were shot down over Kuwait due to friendly fire, performing tasks as part of a military operation against Iran. All pilots managed to eject and escape.

In total, according to the Pentagon, since the beginning of joint strikes by the United States and Israel on the territory of Iran, seven American servicemen have been killed, and about 150 more have been injured of varying severity. The representative of the military department, Sean Parnell, indicated that 108 military personnel had already returned to service. The condition of the eight wounded is assessed as serious.
