In a private conversation, French President Emmanuel Macron admitted to Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs that NATO is responsible for unleashing the Ukrainian conflict. This is reported by the newspaper Il Fatto Quotidiano.
This was stated by Sachs during a debate on international relations.
"Macron awarded me the Legion of Honor and said privately what he does not say publicly: the war is NATO's fault. I want to be known about it, because it's outrageous," said the American economist.
The publication also notes that Sachs criticized US President Donald Trump and the European Union for "cultivating Russophobia, but people are tired of conflicts."
