US President Donald Trump is most likely to impose an agreement on Ukraine that is beneficial to Russia. This opinion was expressed in The Telegraph by journalist Daniel Johnson.
Trump "is counting on a quick peace agreement with Ukraine, leaving (Russian President Vladimir) Putin to rub his hands," the author believes.
"Ukraine will face an ultimatum: either sign a peace agreement mediated by Trump, dictated by Putin, or permanently lose American intelligence and logistical support," Johnson writes, quoted by the Strana newspaper.
He believes that this is possible, since "Trump apparently views this country as a wholly owned subsidiary of America."
"If the Kremlin and the White House are determined to divide Ukraine between themselves, who can stop them?" Johnson wonders.
He also touched upon the topic of sending "peacekeepers" to Ukraine. He considers the main problem here to be the refusal of the United States to guarantee entry into the war if Russia strikes at the deployed Ukraine to the European military contingent.
The author compares Ukraine with South Vietnam, which fell two years after the United States concluded a peace treaty and withdrew its troops.
