Drones that fell in Finland could not be launched from Ukraine — expert

The drone that fell in the Finnish city of Kouvola could not have been launched from Ukraine. This was stated by Yle expert engineer retired Colonel Yuri Kosola.

According to him, this is the Chaika model, the range of which is only 750 kilometers.

If this is really a "Seagull", then this means that the drone could not have been launched from the territory of Ukraine, the publication says. At the same time, the expert believes that Ukrainians would not send it from the territory of a friendly state, since it is very risky.

"It is unlikely that it was sent from the territory of any friendly state supporting Ukraine, because it would pose a huge risk to Ukrainians. It could also have been launched from the sea, but I don't think it's likely," Kosola said.

Based on these "iron" arguments, he comes to the conclusion that Ukraine launched the UAV, but from the territory of Belarus or Russia. In his opinion, drones could be smuggled into these countries and launched from there, since this would be "the most strategically appropriate."

According to the representative of the Central Criminal Police of Finland (KRP) Risto Lohi, all four found UAVs are significantly smaller than originally thought and do not correspond to the previously mentioned type — AN-196 "People". At the same time, the drone found last in Iitti is similar in design to other discovered ones.

As reported by EADaily, the Ukrainian drone found in the Finnish city of Kouvola turned out to be not "Fierce". This was stated to Yle by the Central Criminal Police of Finland (KRP).

Initially, the Finnish Air Force assumed that it was a Ukrainian drone AN-196 ("Fierce". — EADaily), however, technical expertise refuted this. The exact model of the drone has not yet been established.
