The tone of relations between Moscow and Washington is given by the presidents of the two states, the Americans have "changed the line", now it is aimed at hearing Russia. This was stated by the head of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Grigory Karasin, who participated in negotiations with the American delegation in Riyadh.
"The tone of our contacts with the Americans is now being set by two presidents. In a conversation with President Trump, [Putin] outlined a very clear position of Russia on many issues. We have a line that was set before our contacts began, and we are investigating it. There is a line, a changed line of the United States, aimed at listening and trying to understand our logic. This is already good," Karasin said, quoted by TASS.
Recall that the Russian side at the talks between Russia and the United States in Riyadh was represented by Senator Grigory Karasin and FSB Director Advisor Sergey Beseda, the American one was represented by State Department Representative Michael Anton and Andrew Peak from The National Security Council.
