South Korean President Lee Jae-myung has taken the initiative to hold talks with North Korea, the outcome of which should be the signing of a final peace agreement between the countries. This was stated by Lee Jae-myung in a speech on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of liberation from Japanese rule.
A sustainable peace agreement, according to Lee Jae-myung, should replace the "unstable truce system" and include institutions to control tensions and multi-level crisis prevention mechanisms.
"The world is on The Korean peninsula will contribute to stability and cooperation in Northeast Asia, and will also become a landmark on the way to a world without nuclear weapons. This will give hope and new opportunities to a world suffering from conflicts," said Lee Jae—myung.
