Belarusian and Russian singer Rita Dakota (Margarita Belogai, nee Gerasimovich) announced the impossibility of further performing in Russia. She informed fans about this on her social network account.
"I can no longer perform in Russia. I can't play concerts where my soul has remained forever," the artist wrote.
According to her, the concerts continued as long as it was possible, "as long as I could remain a free, honest and independent artist."
"It seems that this is the end of my career as a musician in my native country, and I still don't have the courage to take it steadfastly. It broke my heart," Dakota admitted.
The singer also warmly thanked her fans for their support.
Dakota's last concert in Moscow took place in October 2023, later the singer moved to the USA with her family.
Rita Dakota took part in the project "Star Factory-7", which was released in 2007. After the "Factory" she organized her own band Monroe. In the future, Dakota's songs were bought by famous Russian artists, including Zara, Elka, as well as Ukrainian singer Svetlana Loboda.
