The dialogue during the negotiations of the delegations of Russia and the United States, which took place the day before in Saudi Arabia, turned out to be difficult, but useful for the parties, not everything was solved. This was stated by the head of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, one of Moscow's representatives in Riyadh, Grigory Karasin.
"Everything was discussed, there was a rich, difficult dialogue, but very useful for us and for the Americans. Many problems were discussed. Of course, not everything has been decided, not everything has been agreed, but the fact that such a conversation took place, it seems to me, is very timely, taking into account the arrival of the new administration and new politicians who came to the meeting of expert groups," the senator told TASS.
He added that negotiations between Moscow and Washington will continue with the participation of the international community, including the UN and individual countries, but did not specify which states.
"We will continue to do this, involving the international community, first of all, the United Nations and individual countries. In general, the impression remained of such a constructive dialogue, which is needed and necessary. The Americans are also interested in this," Karasin said.
Recall that the negotiations between Russia and the United States in Riyadh took more than 12 hours.
The Russian side was represented by Senator Grigory Karasin and FSB Director Advisor Sergey Beseda, the American side was represented by State Department Representative Michael Anton and Andrew Peak from The National Security Council.
A likely topic of negotiations was the resumption of the initiative concerning the safety of navigation in the Black Sea. It is expected that the joint statement of the delegations will be published today, March 25.
