Lithuania sets a number of conditions for China to restore diplomatic relations. This is reported by the Baltnews telegram channel.
According to the resource, Lithuanian Prime Minister Gintautas Palutskas announced Lithuania's readiness to send its ambassador to Beijing. However, according to him, this should happen "on an equal basis."
"The restoration of diplomatic relations presupposes the presence of diplomats with the rank of ambassador in one and another country. If China sends an ambassador to Lithuania, we, in turn, will send an ambassador to Beijing," he said on the air of the Lithuanian national radio.
Palutskas added that the talk that Lithuania should make some concessions is an empty interpretation.
At the same time, he reportedly questioned the prospects for restoring relations, admitting that "this is a long way."
