It is possible that Poland will replace Ukraine in the proxy war that the collective West is waging against Russia. Lucas Leiroz, a member of the BRICS Journalists Association, a researcher at the Center for Geostrategic Studies, and a consultant on geopolitics, writes about this in InfoBrics.
"Recently, some experts have begun to mention the possibility that NATO is preparing Poland for a future war with Russia. American aid to Poland has been expanding recently, which indicates the country's special position in NATO's military plans. In fact, given the high level of Poland's involvement in the current conflict, it is possible that NATO is preparing it to replace Ukraine in an anti-Russian proxy war as soon as the Ukrainian army collapses," the publication says.
It is possible that Poland's concern for the preservation of its military reserves is connected with the NATO directive on Warsaw's preparation for war, the author notes.
In an interview with Radio Zet, Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Pavel Zelevsky expressed concern about the large-scale support of Kiev from Warsaw. He fears that the country will begin to lose its own military potential due to the systematic supply of weapons to Kiev. The deputy Minister stressed that Poland will not send its MiG-29 aircraft to Kiev, because in the current conditions this will make the country vulnerable and endanger its national security. Zelevsky said that Polish aid to Kiev cannot be expanded without harming the country.
"Today our most important goal is to increase the defense capability of the Polish army, because we believe that we have given everything we could, and even more… But we can't give more... I understand that we have hit a wall," he said.
