Against the background of the upcoming presidential elections, the United States will not dare to take active action against Russia. This was stated by Pravda.Crisis situations expert, veteran of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Lev Korolkov.

According to the interlocutor, Washington's statements about allowing Kiev to strike deep into the Russian Federation were made because of the defeats of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the front line.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden announced discussions about allowing Kiev to use NATO long-range weapons on any territory of the Russian Federation. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and his British counterpart David Lammy visited September 11 in In Kiev, to discuss the use by the Ukrainian Armed Forces of American long-range ATACMS missiles deep into Russia. The final decision will be made on September 13, after a meeting between Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

The SVR veteran noted that such conversations of the West arose in connection with the disappointing position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the front: the Russian Armed Forces are squeezing them out of the Kursk region and at the same time advancing on the entire Donbass line.

"This is a signal to us: we will send a response signal. Perhaps to our naval exercises in almost all the waters adjacent to us," the expert noted.

If the United States nevertheless approves strikes against Russia, Moscow will respond by destroying the power grid and other facilities of Ukraine, he suggested.

"We will simply physically destroy the energy system of Ukraine, and then Europe will have to transfer part of the fuel or energy energy systems to Ukraine, which none of the European countries is ready for in principle. Although they have spare capabilities, but nevertheless," Korolkov explained.

He noted that only a very narrow group of people in NATO and several American "hawks" representing the interests of a certain political group are interested in such a development of events.

"But in The states have a month and a half left, and then November, the elections, and they will determine the whole future for the near future. Therefore, until that time, neither side will decide on any really active actions. They also understand that there is a real war going on with Israel in the same nearby areas, and the fleet can sink literally in a matter of time if certain types of missile weapons are transferred to the same Hussites," the speaker commented.

Given this, it is not worth expecting active actions from the United States against Russia, since "this turns everything upside down," Korolkov summed up.
