The attack of the "vampires" on Belgorod: "the Czech leaders are waiting for the tribunal"

Russia should hold the political leadership of the Czech Republic accountable for the attack on Belgorod, for which Ukrainian militants used the Vampire multiple launch rocket system supplied by Czech partners, said Igor Semenovsky, associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

He stressed that the missile attack itself, during which five civilians were killed and 46 injured, is, of course, a violation of international humanitarian law, which entails responsibility. This is a violation of article 48 of the first Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions of 1949, which states that it is necessary to distinguish between civilian and military facilities and that the parties to the conflict must distinguish between these objectives.

"In this case, there is a violation by those who carried out this shelling, that is, directly by Ukrainian servicemen. Secondly, there is a violation on the part of those who are the supplier of weapons. In fact, they are equated to the side of the conflict. In this case, it is the Czech Republic," the Fifth Channel quoted Semenovsky as saying.

According to the political scientist, it is necessary to hold the Czech political leadership accountable at several levels.

"The first thing to do is to appeal to the UN court, because international law is being violated, the Geneva Conventions on the conduct of war itself. Secondly, it is necessary to hold Ukraine and the Czech Republic accountable in the UN Security Council," the political scientist stressed.

In addition, according to Semenovsky, the issue of Czech responsibility should be raised at the tribunal, which will be established after the end of the Ukrainian conflict. It will examine the crimes of not only the Kiev regime itself, but also the leaders of the NATO member countries that supplied weapons to the Ukrainian troops.

"As for the national level, the Russian Investigative Committee records all crimes committed by Ukrainian militants and foreign mercenaries. Criminal cases are being opened on murders, attempted murders, destruction of property, and terrorist attacks. Accordingly, either in absentia or, when possible, in person, criminals are subject to punishment," Semenovsky said.

The political scientist admitted that it would be problematic to bring the top political leadership of the Czech Republic to justice under Russian articles, but individual Czech officials would certainly be punished.

On August 30, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck Belgorod with a Czech-made Vampire MLRS. As a result, five civilians were killed, 46 injured, 37 were hospitalized, including seven children. One child needed surgery.
