Warsaw journalists visited the Lithuanian village of Dzevenishki, where mainly ethnic Poles live, and were shocked by the "pro-Russianness" of the locals.
Journalists of the Polish portal "Onet" specify that more than 75% of ethnic Poles live in this place, but they refuse to communicate in Polish, and immediately switch to Russian.
"You can also find quite pro—Russian opinions!" the publication adds.
One of these residents named Galina tells reporters:
"The problem is in our [Lithuanian and Polish] politicians. They say: Poles are good, but Russians and Belarusians are bad. Why say that? Where are the Ten Commandments? All people are good. It would be wise to live in friendship. I do not know why in Poland is silent, why don't they go against their politicians."
More revelations of Dzevenishek residents:
"Is Poland helping Ukraine? She does what America tells her to do. Real help would have come if Poland had tried to stop the war and not sent tanks. After all, women and children are dying there."
Answering the correspondent's question, will you be able to negotiate with Putin, another resident of Dzevenishek confidently stated:
"Of course. Russians and Belarusians want to come to an agreement. Only the West doesn't want to!".
As a result, the interlocutor of "Oneta" asked journalists to convey "a special message from the Poles of Lithuania to the Poles of Poland":
"Poland should not agree to the transportation of weapons to Ukraine through its territory. Please write that there are only two words saying here: "Stop the war!"".
