The Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested the head of the headquarters of the youth union "Young Investigator" Alexei Hvorostyanko, created on the initiative of the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin, in the case of especially large-scale fraud.
"On March 6, the court granted the request of the investigation to take Hvorostyanko into custody. He is charged with part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on an especially large scale),"the materials on the court's website say, according to TASS.
The Youth Union "Young Investigator" is an interregional public organization created on the initiative of the chairman Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin. Conducts awareness-raising activities in the regions in order to unite young people who want to serve the law.
As noted on the union's website, Alexey Hvorostyanko is its executive director — head of the central headquarters.
Carries out the overall strategic management of the organization, represents its interests in relations with key partners and government agencies, oversees administrative and economic activities.
According to RBC's sources, on March 5, the investigation charged him with fraud on an especially large scale. Together with him, Robert Arakelyan, who is also on trial, was arrested for two months.
