This evening, the Presidents of Russia and the United States discussed the situation in the Middle East by phone. This was stated at a briefing by the assistant to the Russian leader Yuri Ushakov.
"Trump called Putin to discuss a number of extremely important topics related to the development of the international situation. The emphasis was placed on the situation around Iran and on the negotiations on Ukraine. Putin and Trump also discussed the situation on the oil market. I will say right away that the conversation was businesslike, frank and constructive, as it usually happens in a dialogue between Russian and American leaders. They haven't talked on the phone for a long time, the last time was in December 2025," Ushakov said, quoted by Pool No. 3.
According to Putin's aide, the conversation lasted about an hour. Trump "gave his assessment of the development of the situation in the context of the ongoing American-Israeli operation."
As reported by EADaily, the head of RDIF Kirill Dmitriev hinted at a possible agreement between Moscow and Washington as part of the restoration of global energy security.
