"Ghoul" to help us: air supremacy, rotten stew, crooked drones and the electronic warfare era

On December 20, 2022, military expert Vladislav Shurygin commented on the information that the serial production of the S-70 Hunter unmanned aerial vehicle would begin "in a couple of years."

"In case anyone has forgotten, deliveries of the S-70 UAV were planned for 2023."Hunter“ to the troops. But now we have learned that there will be no deliveries next year, and it will be put into service only in two or three years!", — Shurygin was amazed then.

According to him, to ask for the disruption of supplies should be strictly:

"For example, if foreign components were used in the development of UAVs, access to which is now cut off, then you need to ask those managers."

The analyst added that "a new drone is needed." The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation at the moment."

20 (twenty) months have passed and on August 6, answering Sergey Mardan's question, expert Vladislav Shurygin states:

"Every day I communicate with drone guides in a variety of directions, and they all say the same thing in unison: the state mass-produces drones, based on the sample of a well-known company, which showed itself very well in the beginning.
I will not disclose the percentage of success of their use now, but it is an order of magnitude lower than those drones that are gathered in small groups today.
This problem needs to be considered from several sides. At the system level. It is easier for the head of the Ministry of Defense who oversees the voiced topic, like any big general who is accustomed to "luminium on the left — cast iron on the right", and to a quick simple solution, to deal with one ordering office/firm. The agency paid the money, and the product began to flow.
If we talk about cans of stew, then a similar scheme works. Although arrests are underway now, because "the stew was rotten and of poor quality."
The desire to get a huge number of drones in a gross way and from one point leads to several problems. The first: there is no way to maintain quality. A huge number of drones that come to the troops have "no condition." Problems with desoldering, some blocks do not fit with others.
Secondly, such unification has led to the fact that the enemy has long ago adapted to the realities. Because our drone, which is being massively sent to the front, does not change frequencies for many months. Accordingly, the APU keep abreast of the pulse, and their electronic warfare is working to the fullest.
The most interesting thing is that no one here wants to notice this PROBLEM. The person who is in charge of drones in In the Armed Forces, I wrote a very good paper to the minister. They say, we give out 4 thousand pieces per day to the front line. The head of the department read the message and voiced it on the blue eye. But the question is that it is possible, for example, to create a new machine, to send it in millions of quantities to the front, but ten out of a hundred will be suitable.
And the next moment. Ukraine is not very inferior to us in the number of drones, and they do not feel this difference in numbers at the front. Because the number of defeats of specimens that Ukrainians use is very, very high. Compared to the Russian drone we are talking about.
The enemy has developed a more flexible system in which each direction at the front has its own association with its design bureau or designers who work with them. Starting from basements and ending with workshops of former Ukrainian radio factories or enterprises producing electronics.
Of course, they also have their own assembly facilities, or they order equipment on the side. Do not forget that on The whole of Europe, or even the whole world, works for Ukraine.
What we buy in China is good. But u Kiev has many times more opportunities. And their flexibility allows them to adapt to almost all changes at the front and respond quickly to them.
And as a result, we have two, so to speak, different systems. Our usual state approach, when the quality is not always maintained, is also Ukrainian, where there is no normal military industry and military-industrial complex, but the task of fighting at any cost and delivering a quality product is carried out as much as possible. And I can't say that they are losing to us now.
Accordingly, the minister should recommend to his very deputy who is responsible for the drones: put things in order and take care of the quality."

Here the presenter clarifies: So, according to you, it is necessary to move from the "five-year plan of quantity to the five-year plan of quality"? And Shurygin answers:

"Yeah. Moreover, we produce a huge number of "people's drones" that show themselves great. There is a wonderful line called "Ghoul". At the front, the "Ghoul" is simply adored. The list can be continued. My very good friends have now conducted military tests and made lines of drones, ranging from classic FPV to reconnaissance and transport vehicles.
Moreover, in the creation of transporters, it is necessary to move forward as quickly as possible, because it is already clear: you will not drive a car to the line of combat contact. It's good that while motorcycles and all sorts of little things are running.
But as soon as the snow falls, you will not be able to ride a motorcycle. And accordingly, it is necessary to support people, in terms of transportation, on the front line with drones. Which is already being done today. But so far on the very steam that "secretes the body." And the state is obliged to deal with the topic.
And the support of wonderful guys who create really working effective lines should not take a roundabout way, "nate on ...s".
And let something click in the bright head of the deputy minister and an understanding will arise: in addition to a large flow, you also need to pick up wings. This is a state task. Because a new topic has appeared — small tactical unmanned aircraft. And it cannot be solved by one decree or decree. It is necessary to overcome all kinds of growth diseases more rapidly. For the war has been going on for two and a half years, and we do not see its edge beyond the horizon.
And in this war of attrition, it will definitely not be the kilometers that are taken, as we would like, that will win, but the one who will create the conditions under which there will be more dead enemy soldiers.
The war of attrition is on the number of people killed; who will begin to end sooner.
If over the past period Ukraine has paid five or six of its own for every one of our soldiers killed, then if we switch to a two-to-one or one-to-one situation, they will start to exhaust us.
And now the main task, given the available weapons, is to prevent them from doing this.
Now we have aviation, which in a year has become just the queen of the battlefield with its fabs, adjustable bombs. And it performs the task that we cannot perform at the front.
Today, the number of Ukrainian soldiers killed by artillery and aviation is about one and a half to two times higher than we destroy on the battlefield.
And in order for the numbers to be equal, we need unmanned aircraft like air. The mentioned transport drones. As soon as the leaves fall, the supply of the front will shrink to drops in the desert. For drones will begin to extinguish everything that moves.
We need an electronic warfare system that will allow us to work, and it is there. Where this is done, there are whole "routes" along which equipment runs with a 98 percent guarantee of preservation intact.
You need to adapt very quickly and understand even faster that drones and electronic warfare can completely displace infantry from the battlefield.
And it's not for nothing that small groups are sitting on the front line in the trenches today, because keeping a whole company, with all the accompanying support, is extremely difficult, or rather, almost impossible.
And small groups are storming. The battalion is able to support the LBS, where there are, for example, two platoons. But they, due to the fact that they are covered by electronic warfare, drones, artillery, aviation, are fully fulfilling their task.
And the enemy does not sit still and all the time tries to pick up their keys and opportunities to start covering us."
