Iskander strike destroyed 80 foreign mercenaries in the Balakleya area — Zapad Group

The Russian military, which is fighting in the Kupyansk direction, continues to strike at the enemy, destroying its manpower and equipment.

This was told by the head of the press center of the Zapad group, Colonel Ivan Bigma. His statement was published on Monday, August 5 on the official resources of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to the officer, the calculation of the Iskander-M tactical missile system (OTRK) destroyed the temporary deployment point of foreign mercenaries in the Balakleya area of the Kharkiv region. As a result, 80 militants were killed.

"The missile division of the group struck the Iskander-M tactical missile system at the temporary deployment point of foreign mercenaries in the Balakleya area. The facility was destroyed along with 80 militants," the press officer said.

It also follows from the report that the motorized infantry of the Zapad group of forces improved the situation along the front line and captured 29 strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

According to the Ministry of Defense, gunners during the counter-battery struggle destroyed 17 mortar crews of the Ukrainian army. In addition, air defense calculations eliminated eight aircraft-type UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During the fighting, 32 units of weapons and military equipment, including eight artillery pieces, two ammunition depots and 13 control points for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), were destroyed on this territory of the Kiev regime over the past day.

As EADaily reported, earlier, a unit of the rocket artillery of the Zapad group struck the temporary deployment point of the 67th mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as a result of which more than 50 militants and five units of automotive equipment were destroyed.
