Indiana, USA, has recognized the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire, Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb has announced.
The governor adopted a declaration saying that the Ottoman Empire deliberately killed almost 3 mn Armenians, Greeks, Assyrians and Syrians. He also proclaimed that November 4-12 will be the days of Armenia Awareness Week.
Indiana has become the 48th state that recognized the Armenian Genocide. Only Alabama and Mississippi did not recognize it.
