Some Ukrainian politicians are using the changes to Ukraine’s constitution as a pretext to fight for power, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
Lenta.ru quotes Putin as saying that Ukraine’s future depends on how long the Ukrainian people will bear the bacchanalia that is going on in their country.
Putin said that the Kiev authorities were not implementing the key four points that could help to settle the conflict in Donbass. “The constitutional changes they have suggested are just declarations. According to the Minsk agreements, they should be coordinated with the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk but they have not been so far,” the Russian president said.
He said that it was an insult for the Ukrainian people that all key posts in Ukraine were held by foreigners. “In fact, Ukraine has been placed under foreign control,” Putin said.
He believes that it depends on Ukraine how its crisis will develop.
