Relations between Serbia and The United States of America has undergone dramatic changes during the presidency of Donald Trump. This was stated by Serbian President Alexander Vucic in an interview with Fox News Digital.

According to him, the changes of recent years have affected public perception in a country where memories of the NATO bombing in 1999 are deeply rooted. Vucic praised Trump's approach to the Balkans, saying his administration is focused on economic cooperation, not political pressure, which resonated with many Serbs. At the same time, he noted that the support of the United States has increased dramatically under Trump, and invited the American president to visit Belgrade.

In addition, Vucic said that Donald Trump's position on holding negotiations to end the conflict on Ukraine is finding more and more responses in Europe. He recalled that the American leader initially insisted on a peaceful settlement of the conflict on Ukraine through negotiations.

"When President Trump proposed negotiations, everyone in Europe, and not only in Europe, said no to the negotiation process... and now, you see, everyone is getting closer to Trump's position on negotiations... and everyone would like to start them now... It's always better to have thousands of days of negotiations than one day wars," the Serbian leader summed up.
