Ukraine cannot reject the option of a long-term end to the conflict, said the former head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the current ambassador of Kiev to Britain Valery Zaluzhny.
"We, Ukrainians, of course, want a complete victory — the collapse of the Russian Empire. But we cannot reject the option of a long—term (for years) cessation of the war, because this is the way too common in the history of wars to end them," Zaluzhny wrote in an article for the publication. Liga.net .
The end of the conflict today, according to Zaluzhny, is unlikely due to the lack of clear security guarantees for the parties to the conflict, including economic ones.
The US administration earlier announced the development of a plan for the Ukrainian settlement, noting that it would not discuss its details yet, since work is still ongoing. The Kremlin said that Russia remains open to negotiations and remains on the platform of discussions in Anchorage.
