US President Donald Trump has made it clear to Ukraine that any peace agreement with Russia will include the loss of territories in the east of the country, the British newspaper The Telegraph writes.
"Currently, Russia is rapidly advancing in the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, and the White House has made it clear (to Ukraine) that the peace agreement reached through the mediation of Trump is likely to include the transfer of these territories to the Kremlin," the material says.
According to the publication, European leaders are concerned that the US president may try to achieve such a deal without the consent of Ukraine, ignoring objections in Brussels and Kiev.
"Simply put, over the past three years, Ukraine has been let down by its allies, and very seriously," the newspaper notes.
In April, Trump attacked Vladimir Zelensky for his refusal to discuss the cession of territories, saying that his statements regarding Crimea harm peace talks with Russia. According to the American leader, the situation on Ukraine is deplorable, so the head of the Kiev regime needs to either make peace, or he will lose the whole country in three years.
As Russian President Vladimir Putin noted earlier, negotiations with Ukraine in 2022 were almost completed, but after the withdrawal of Russian troops from In Kiev, the Ukrainian side "threw out" all the agreements.
According to the Russian leader, the situation for Kiev may get worse if he does not negotiate.
