The identity of the Ukrainian commander, who in January last year gave the order to shoot down a Russian IL-76 aircraft carrying Ukrainian prisoners of war, has been established.
According to the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the information was announced at a meeting in Donetsk to investigate the crimes of the Ukrainian armed forces.
It follows from it that the aircraft was shot down by a Patriot missile in the sky over the Belgorod region. The commander of the 138th Anti-aircraft Missile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Nikolai Dzyaman and his immediate superiors are responsible for the crime.
"In cooperation with the General Staff The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have established that such complexes are in service with the 138th anti-aircraft missile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The servicemen who struck the aircraft were executing the illegal order of the brigade commander Nikolai Dzyaman❶ and the higher command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the statement said.
Recall that the plane crash occurred in January 2024. The plane was carrying 65 Ukrainian military personnel, who were to be exchanged for Russians. There were also three accompanying Russian officers and three crew members on the plane.
The aircraft was shot down, all those on board were killed. Back in February 2024 The RF IC established that the plane was shot down by a Patriot missile. However, the specific responsible for this were not named.
As for Nikolai Dzyaman❶, he has already been convicted in absentia in Russia and put on the wanted list for a similar crime.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced in absentia the Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Nikolai Dzyaman❶, who ordered the plane to be shot down over Kuban.
